Teen NYC Trip
We will be leaving the Upper School Gym promptly at 9AM Wednesday, July 25th. If you are running late please call to let us know. Medications need to be discussed and checked with the Camp Nurse. Please pack light. Campers have to be able to carry their own bags, because we will be walking several blocks, riding the subway and ferry on Friday. In the past rolling suitcases have been a hassle.
Wednesday and Thursday campers will have a large amount of free time to explore NYC with their assigned counselor. It is very important that campers stay with their counselor at all times. We do suggest bringing cell phones, but we ask that campers are responsible with keeping track of them. Counselors’ cell phone numbers will be given to them in case of emergencies. Wednesday night we will be walking across the Brooklyn Bridge to get ice cream. Campers will need to have money for Brooklyn’s ice cream/snacks/drinks and 3 lunches. We suggest anything between $80-$100 should cover the food and souvenirs. Campers will need to keep track of their own money.
Friday morning we plan on waking up early and standing outside CBS’s Early Morning Show 7AM-9AM (depending on when we arrive!)
So keep a look out for kids in purple shirts!!!
Things to Pack
Bathing Suit, Dress Clothes (ex: collared shirt and shorts- boys, nice shirt/shorts sundress-girls) PURPLE CAMP T-SHIRT for Friday, Money for souvenirs/snacks/and 3 lunches, Cell phone, Cell phone charger, Comfortable Walking Shoes

MUD MADNESS REMINDERS
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:
• All campers getting in the mud should wear OLD clothes or swimsuits (so old that you might want to throw them away instead of trying to clean them). Swimsuits or board shorts with no side pockets (and an old t-shirt) work well.
• All campers should also bring the following: towel(s), an extra change of clothes, and a bag to place the old, muddy clothes in. Goggles are a good idea too.
• Pack an extra snack because the Lower School will be closed and After Camp will be outside for the rest of the day.
PARENTS PICK-UP/DISMISSAL:
• The driveway will be closed for dismissal, so please park at the Lower School parking lot and come over to the Mud Pit to sign out your campers.
• When coming to pick up your camper, you may wish to line your seats with towels or trash bags
• Parents are invited to partake in the madness before they pick up their children at 3:00!
AFTER-CAMP:
• After-Camp will be all outside on Friday. The Mud Pit will still be open during After-Camp Super Play till 4:00pm
• After-Camp swimmers will need a clean bathing suit, clean towel, and shampoo with them if they plan on attending swimming on Friday for After-Camp
NOTE: There will also be clean, mud-free activities for campers who do not wish to get in the mud.

Water, Water Everywhere Reminders!
- Come wearing a swimsuit/trunks under his/her clothes
- Come wearing sunscreen and bring more in case your camper needs to reapply after a few hours
- Bring a towel and change of clothes for after the festival
- Bring flipflops so that your camper's shoes and socks don't get soaked and squishy
- Campers can bring a water soaker (squirt gun or other water dispensing device) for the huge water war during the festival. If your camper chooses to bring a soaker, make sure it is labeled with his/her name so it doesn't get lost
- Campers are also encouraged to wear goggles to protect them from accidental splashing

Beyond the Limits News for Teens
Campers will be going to BEYOND THE LIMITS on Thursday, June 24th. Your child will need a packed lunch, sunscreen, and bug spray. We will be at the ropes course from 10am-2pm. Make sure to have plenty of water packed because we will be outside. If it rains on Thursday, we will reschedule the trip for Friday. The Liability form that will be sent home with the campers must be filled out and brought to camp in order for your child to attend this trip. If it is not turned in, your child may not go on the trip. Please contact me if there are any questions, comments, or concerns. Thank you.

NEWS AND NOTES FOR WEEK 1 @ CAMP ODYSSEY!
We are very happy to see so many returning campers and so many new friends for this 20th anniversary summer celebration! We want your child to have everything he or she may need for the different theme days of the week, so here is a short description of what will be happening:
• Tuesday is Crazy Hat & Hair day! Bust out the craziest headwear or hairdos to show your true-blue zaniness and celebrate this Camp classic theme day! Campers will have a chance to get their hair done, and also “style” a counselor’s hair.
• Wednesday is Duct Tape & Aluminum Foil Extravaganza! Two of the most versatile materials known to man are honored today! Campers will have the opportunity to show off their skills and have a lot of fun making creations from duct tape and aluminum foil.
• Thursday is Counselor Hunt! During Crazy Time, campers will get to participate in a campus wide search for some well hidden counselors.
• Friday is Water, Water Everywhere! This is a wild day of water fun! Be sure to wear a swim suit and bring a towel/change of clothes if you plan on participating in the water games during the festival! Campers may bring in a water soaker (water guns or some other device) labeled with their name and goggles for a soaking good time.
Reminders:
• Please pack a snack for your child to eat at group time since we burn lots of calories during the day. We also encourage you to send water/drinks with your child to keep them hydrated throughout the day. We have water fountains throughout the camp for them to use as well.
• When considering what to do about your child’s snack, don’t forget about the Z-Snack Shack! With great prices for everyday snacks and drinks, the Camp Store is open at lunch and After-Camp, so be sure to send a few extra dollars.
• Odyssey Academy: We still have openings at many of our Academy camps! Don’t miss your chance to get incredible experiences in music, sailing, art, and more! Check our catalog or look online for more details!
• Horizons @ The Salisbury School is having a flapjack fundraiser on July 3rd! From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar on 2703 North Salisbury Boulevard is serving breakfast to help support the Horizons program. The breakfast is $6.50 per person and the proceeds will help support this valuable non-profit organization. Horizons works to make a difference in the lives of economically-disadvantaged children through focused academic intervention during the summer months and during the school year. Please come out and enjoy! See Salisburyhorizons.org for more details.
• Stay on top of the Camp happenings and news updates by checking the “news” section of our website (campodyssey.org- then go to the page you are looking at right now) daily and also by “liking” us on Facebook. We will post frequent updates to both so you can find out the up-to-the-minute details for what is going on at Camp Odyssey!
Needs:
We would greatly appreciate it if you have any of the following items and would be willing to donate them for our zany special activities. Your trash could be our treasure!
• Games: Go Fish, Trouble, Checkers, any Math related games,
• Puzzles

Thanks a lot!
